The Mavericks’ “Missing You,” written by Raul Malo and former NRBQ guitarist Big Al Anderson, is just about perfect in every way — a haunting melody, lovelorn lyrics, Malo’s amazing pipes and a beautiful arrangement that makes it sound like someone pulled it out of a countrypolitan time capsule from the ’60s.
